Qualifying:
How Do I Enter ?
Students must register through their public, separate or private school before the tournaments as per the information package. All York Region schools received an information package and entry form. If your school is not entered, please contact your local Optimist Club.
Who Will Qualify for The York Region Optimist Tournament?
The top 3 finishers (including ties to a maximum of 5 players) from each grade in the area tournaments will qualify.
Who Will Qualify for The Ontario Chess Challenge?
The top 3 finishers from each grade at The York Region Tournament will qualify.
Who Will Qualify for The Canadian Chess Challenge?
The 1st place finisher from each grade at the Ontario Chess Challenge will qualify for The Canadian Chess Challenge .
When Will the Results Be Posted?
Individual and Team (Primary, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior) results will be posted on the website as soon as possible following the tournaments.
Will Players Be Rated Following the Tournament?
Only The York Regional Tournament will be rated with the Chess’n’Math Association.
